Welcome

BCCA 2024 National Specialty
Santa Rosa, CA
October 14-20, 2024

Welcome to the BCCA 2024 National Specialty! Your host clubs — the Northern California Bearded Collie Fanciers, Bearded Collie Club of Southern California, and Northwest Bearded Collie Club of Puget Sound — have banded together as ONE to bring you a tremendous Specialty with lots of opportunities to more of all the things you like to do!

As a herding breed, we will begin our Western week on Monday, October 14 with 2 days of herding trials and tests at JR Farm in Patterson, CA.

The National Specialty will run as a Concurrent Specialty with the Harvest Moon Classic Cluster at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, CA. The Cluster is hosted by the Skyline Dog Fanciers of San Mateo County (Thursday & Friday) and the Del Valle Dog Club of Livermore (Saturday & Sunday).

Wow!

In addition to our Bearded Collies-only Specialty events, you’ll be able to enjoy a week’s worth of all-breed events as well! You could even go home with a new title!

  • 4 all-breed conformation shows
  • 4 all-breed agility trials
  • 4 all-breed obedience trials
  • 4 all-breed rally trials
  • FastCAT
  • Barn Hunt
  • Nosework
  • On-site Health Testing, including OFA

Bearded Collie scores on designated Specialty days count toward the BCCA Specialty Versatility (“Chip”) Award.

Don’t forget your jeans and Western wear for our Welcome Party round-up on Thursday. Fun photo opportunities will be available for you and your four-legged posse.

Not only all this, but a number of other activities take place during the Cluster that you might want to take advantage of. Here are some of the events the Cluster has offered in the past:

  • ICSB (International Canine Sperm Bank) and Sirius Canine Fertility
  • AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Testing
  • Pee Wee classes for children ages 5-9
  • AKC National Owner-Handler Series (NOHS)
  • …and all those vendors!
